Our theme this year is "Wildlife of Britain" Your special and worksheet is
on the reverse side. The worksheet has two sections in use. The top section
lists the 30 Animals in use whilst the bottom section, marked Bonus Section,
is your worksheet for entering a maximum of any 10 dupes found.
Point values of both sections:
------------------------------
Specials entered correctly in the main section are worth 2 points each and
Specials entered correctly in the bonus section are worth 4 points each!
Correctly Placed Specials:
-------------------------
The first special of each of the 30 Animals found must be entered in the
main section first. You may then enter any duplicate specials, up to a
maximun of 10, in the section marked bonus section.
You may use your own specials. Please see Wild Card section notes below.
Please do not enter more than one callsign in each of the spaces provided.
This gives a maximun of 30 in the main section and 10 in the bonus section.
PLEASE NOTE...ALL CALLSIGNS MUST BE ENTERED WITHIN THE GRID TO COUNT FOR
CREDIT....THOSE ENTERED OUTSIDE THE GRID WILL NOT BE COUNTED!!

Wild Cards:

Are in use. The same conditions apply. You must fill in the main section
first...Only then may you place the Wild Cards in the bonus Section.
A maximum of 5 Wild Cards allowed in your total submission.
Duration of Special and last posting dates:

To help offset the poor propagation it will once again run for 3 months.
Starting date is the 1/1/97 @ 00.01Z and finish on the 31/3/97 @ 23.59Z.
Last posting date is the 21/4/97..Please read notes re two bonus sections.

Special Notes: PLEASE READ THESE NOTES VERY CAREFULLY.

All entries must be postmarked on or before the 21/4/97 to qualify as an
entry. However, we have two bonus sections where only entries postmarked on
or before the 15/4/97 will automatically be entered and for bonus pts.
Bonus Section No 1: In this section you will receive a bonus of 10% of your
total point score rounded up to full pts.
Bonus Section No 2: Each Special used will be logged and, for the ten most
used specials, a further bonus of 10% of your point score will also be added
All specials listed, whether in the main section or bonus section will count.
Please note that to qualify for either one, or both of the above bonus
sections, an entry must be received from that station with a postmark on or
before the 15/4/97. Those received with a postmark after that date will
not qualify for either of the two bonus sections only!
To administer these two bonus sections correctly it is very important that
only one station is entered in each of the spaces provided on the worksheet.
Results to be used in planning future programmes and specials. It is hoped
that the results from this special will be published in the next available
edition of The News. PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY THE QUALIFYING DATES ABOVE
in order to be entered in the two bonus sections and to gain maximum points.
All animal names used in this Special are true names and are to be found in
various parts of Great Britain. Some are to be found in certain regions only.
Please do not list or divulge your special before the start date of Jan 1st!
