The Norfolk County group of Raynet serves the Northern and Eastern sectors of the county - the areas most prone to coastal flooding, and inland inundation through overtopping of east flowing rivers. The central point for effective response to any such disaster is the Police station at North Walsham, where Raynet maintains radio communication facilities.

Raynet groups assist St John Ambulance, Red Cross and Police during many leisure functions, the County Agricultural Show, Lord Mayor's Parade and Cromer Air Show being among the more prominent. Many Charity events, Coastal Walks and Marathon Runs have also featured; by night in the case of some Scout hikes. Some of the less endearing commitments have been the depressing day-long missing person searches, occasionally with tragic conclusions. ©
