hetford forest is renowned for it's walking facilities, and the photo below shows the Raynet and St John's control team on location at the Lynford Stag picnic site during a long distance walk.
An occasional event of interest also took place at times in part of the battle area, where groups of four took part in running one of the
Assault courses used for troop training.
An assortment of hurdles, rope walls, fences and water rope swings provided much entertainment, and not a few accidents, which justified the presence of St John's Ambulance units, supported by Raynet communications.
In it's colourful career, the Mid-County group has contributed substantial benefits to the community since it's original conception in the aftermath of the great flood disaster in 1953.©
